[115] suggested that by directly targeting the 3‘UTR of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), one of many extracellular matrix proteases, miR-519d-3p was able to suppress trophoblast invasion and migration [121]. This evidence concerns the gene MMP2 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
