We have used this CD34+ derived human BBB model to investigate the role of GD1α in adhesion and transmigration of breast cancer cells and contrary to what was observed in a HUVECs in vitro model, ST6GALNAC5 cDNA expression resulted in a decrease of the interactions between MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells and the CD34+ derived human BBB model. This evidence concerns the gene CD34 and breast carcinoma.
