WNT3A and Insulin resistance: In agreement with this, we found that in a state of insulin resistance that was induced by 16:0 and an 8-week HF diet, the canonical Wnt activator WNT3a was upregulated, whereas the expression of the Wnt inhibitor WNT4 significantly decreased in WAT and skeletal muscle, suggesting that WNT4 signaling counteracts WNT3a signaling in insulin-resistant tissues.
