BECN1 and cervical cancer: Compared to normal cervical epithelial tissues and cervical squamous carcinoma tissues, Beclin-1 is highly expressed in 96.2% (25/26) versus 28.0% (14/50) of cervical cancer patients, and LC3 is highly expressed in 76.9% (20/26) and 26.0% (13/50) of cervical cancer patients, respectively [23], suggesting the induction of autophagy may be an accessible tactic for cervical cancer therapy.
