Overall, the gene expression of Drosha, DGCR8 and Dicer was increased in macrophages incubated with all CAD patients’ sera compared to control sera, having the highest values for ACS sera (3-fold for Drosha, 4.5-fold for DGCR8 and 3-fold for Dicer) (Fig 3A).
