Ang2 is a strong proangiogenic factor in the presence of VEGF and has been associated with a variety of cancers.[18, 25]A few small-scale studies have reported that Ang2 plasma/serum levels are increased in NSCLC patients and associated Ang2 with the progression of the disease.[6, 19, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30]Our study confirmed these observations with a larger sample size and different geographic patient population (China mainland), helping to generalize these findings. The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is cancer.
