NFKB1 and Stroke: In the SCF + G-CSF + NF-κB inhibitor-treated mice, we found the same results as seen in the vehicle control stroke mice that the M-type spines were significantly less in the peri-infarct cavity cortex than in the contralesional cortex (p < .05; Figure 5(b)-2 and (c)), and that the T-type spines remained no different between the two hemispheres (Figure 5(b)-3 and 5(c)), suggesting that NF-κB inhibitor eliminates the SCF + G-CSF-induced modification of M-type and T-type spines in the peri-infarct cavity cortex.
