Deletion of SPI1 and the related ETS‐transcription factor SPI‐B in the B‐cell lineage results in fully‐penetrant pre‐B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B‐ALL), suggesting that SPI1 and SPI‐B are tumor suppressors in the B‐cell lineage (Sokalski et al., 2011). This evidence concerns the gene SPI1 and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
