Hence, rodent plasmodium such as P. yoelii remains can contribute to provide a first insight on the remodelling events happening in P. vivax. Indeed, the fact that P. vivax shares the PIR subtelomeric multigene families with rodent malaria parasites suggests that it shares remodelling features with P. yoelii.
