We have previously demonstrated that exogenous addition of the anti-inflammatory ω3 PUFA docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) to adipocytes of obese and CRC subjects attenuates their inflammatory status by upregulating nuclear PPARγ, the master regulator of mature adipocyte genes, and downregulating STAT3 activation [18]. This evidence concerns the gene STAT3 and colorectal carcinoma.
