Moreover, the decrease in ADAMTS8 expression has been documented in some cancers [16, 20, 23, 25, 26] that ADAMTS8 shows high frequency of promoter methylation in brain, lung, and thyroid cancer [20, 23, 27] suggesting that the epigenetic silencing of ADAMTS8 may be involved in tumorigenesis. Here, ADAMTS8 is linked to thyroid gland carcinoma.
