RBM20 and familial dilated cardiomyopathy: The mechanisms responsible for the changes in TTN isoform expression are still not completely understood; however, it has been shown that RNA-Binding Motif Protein 20 (RBM20), a RNA splicing factor, plays an important role in this process and a reduced expression of RBM20 can alter TTN splicing and isoform expression in human (33) and mice (34), leading to DCM.
