When the same analysis was performed restricted to patients that received strong CYP2D6-inhibiting SSRIs (paroxetine, fluoxetine, and fluvoxamine), no statistically significant association between SSRI use and breast cancer survival was revealed (short-term SSRI use, OR 2.00; 95 % CI 0.60–6.71; long-term SSRI use, OR 0.79; 95 % CI 0.18–3.44). This evidence concerns the gene CYP2D6 and breast carcinoma.
