It were further speculated that the ceRNA activity could be perturbed by chromosomal translocation which often occurred in multiple subtypes of leukemia, such as acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), a specific chromosomal translocation t (15;17) involving the promyelocytic leukemia (PML) gene locus on chromosome 15 and the retinoid acid receptor alpha (RARα) gene locus on chromosome 17. The gene discussed is RARA; the disease is acute promyelocytic leukemia.
