A comparison of CCN3 gene expression from purified stem and progenitor cells from CML patients in different stages of disease (12 samples) and normal volunteers (3 samples) demonstrated that there are significantly lower levels of CCN3 in megakaryocyte-erythroid progenitor (MEP) cells from CML patients compared to healthy counterparts (Cramer-Morales et al. 2013).
