The production of IL-12 by DCs is of paramount importance for plasma cell differentiation; for antibody production promoted by follicular CD4+ T-helper cells (TFH) [26] and for the generation of anti-tumor specific CD8+ T cells [27–29] both in vitro [30] and in vivo [31], hence, IL-12 production by DCs is considered one important requirement for DC-based cancer immunotherapy. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is cancer.
