GTPBP2 and cancer: Furthermore, because Gtpbp2 is required for normal Wnt signaling and operates downstream of proteins which engage the destruction complex, such as Apc and Lrp5 [5, 6] that are commonly mutated in Wnt-driven cancers, we suggest Gtpbp2 as a potential drug target for cancers and other diseases involving excessive Wnt signaling.
