A recent European study reported two cases of ANKL with a particular immunophenotype that characterized by the differential expression ofCD56, CD16, CD57, killer immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) and killer lectin-like receptor (KLR) compared to normal NK cells[19].The results of the referenced study suggest that flow cytometry can be used to detect ANKL-specific cells with high sensitivity. This evidence concerns the gene KIR3DL1 and aggressive NK-cell leukemia.
