Since NXT1 plays a role in the nuclear export of cellular mRNA [35,36,37], tRNA, and U1 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) [38], the host cells for infection, MDCK and A549, were partially knocked-down with NXT1 siRNA and showed a decrease of NXT1 expression without an effect on the cell viability (Figure 2A). The gene discussed is NXT1; the disease is infection.
