Cdk5 activity, however, when deregulated, contributes to neurodegeneration as in Alzheimers disease as well as pancreatic dysfunction as in the pathogenesis of Type 2 diabetes mellitus[1–4].It has also been reported that expression of Cdk5 and p35 are important in development and function of kidney podocytes [5]. Here, CDK5 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
