IFNA1 and viral infectious disease: KFDV, like many other flaviviruses including dengue, yellow fever, Langat, West Nile, tick-borne encephalitis and Japanese encephalitis viruses [24–27] employs the NS5 protein to prevent antiviral state establishment and compromised IFN signalling [28], whereas NS4B-2k has been also implicated for dengue, West Nile and yellow fever viruses [26,29,30].
