In our previous studies, we have explored the associations between few several inflammatory cytokines (e.g., CRP, immunoglobulin E (IgE), chymase, and tryptase) with prediabetes and T2DM and concluded that IgE and CRP are risk factors of prediabetes and T2DM only based on a small sample of cross-sectional study design [6, 7]. This evidence concerns the gene CMA1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
