Compared to normal controls, before anti-HCV therapy, the CHC patients had significantly higher PB (0.20 + /−0.10 vs. 48.2 + /−29.9%, p = 0.039) and hepatic (0.03 + /−0.01 vs. 25.88 + /−13.68%, p < 0.001) expression of resistin. The gene discussed is RETN; the disease is cryohydrocytosis.
