KISS1 and Insulin resistance: Panidis et al. [50] found lower kisspeptin serum levels in PCOS women than in controls, and they reported significantly higher kisspeptin levels in normal weight PCOS subjects than in overweight or obese women with the disease with negative correlation with BMI, androgens, fasting insulin levels and HOMA-IR, suggesting that insulin resistance is linked to decreased kisspeptin levels.
