Interestingly, ephrinB2 WT glioma cells form large cell clusters in the presence of astrocytes, whereas erphinB2 KO glioma cells grow scattered and intermingled with astrocytes, indicating that ephrinB2 restricts the expansion of tumour cells by compartmentalization, as for example, shown for the EphB/ephrinB system in colorectal cancer (see above). The gene discussed is EFNB2; the disease is glioma.
