TXNIP and coronary atherosclerosis: Hence, in this study, we detected TXNIP mRNA expression, plasma TXNIP and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, and carried out a two‐stage case–control study to evaluate the associations of three TXNIP SNPs with CAD risk and the severity of coronary atherosclerosis, followed by multifactor dimensionality reduction (MDR) and classification and regression tree (CART) analyses to investigate the interaction effects of TXNIP SNPs and traditional cardiovascular (CV) risk factors on CAD risk.
