Interestingly, authors of a recent study on human allergy to peanuts in West Africa concluded that: ‘... parasite- (including S. haematobium-) induced IgE against CCDs might account largely for high IgE levels to peanut in (their) study population of Ghanaian schoolchildren ...’, though no evidence of IgE-mediated peanut allergy was found [89].
