Taken together, our findings demonstrate that ADAM8 might be a novel drug target for treatment of allergic asthma, perhaps other TH2 cytokines-mediated inflammatory diseases as well, because inhibition of ADAM8, at least with BK-1361, could suppress asthma symptoms from BHR to airway inflammation and tissue remodeling without major side-effects in this model used. This evidence concerns the gene ADAM8 and asthma.
