CRP and Obesity: Further evidence of a link between obesity, inflammation, and cardiovascular diseases in patients with psoriasis is provided by several studies reporting a positive correlation between obesity, the clinical severity of disease, evaluated by the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) [26], and increased of C-reactive protein (CRP) levels [27], an acute phase protein representing the most sensitive markers of inflammation and an independent risk for cardiovascular disease.
