CDH2 and colorectal cancer: In MYC–induced EMT in colorectal cancer, TFAP4 has been shown to regulate a number of EMT-associated genes such as CDH1, CDH2, VIM and SNAIL. TFAP4 transcriptionally induces SNAIL, and both TFAP4 and SNAIL repress CDH1. In addition, TFAP4 protein is associated with Vimentin expression and inversely correlated with E-cadherin expression in seven colorectal cancer cell lines [7].
