However, the previous studies, performed using a small number of samples, demonstrated only that NSUN2 is highly expressed in breast cancer cells, and found that the increase in NSUN2 mRNA levels correlates with the copy number gain of NSUN2, while our results showed that NSUN2 is upregulated in breast cancer cells at both mRNA and protein levels, in comparison with normal breast epithelial cells.
