Interestingly, Li et al. [72] reported that DIM inhibits the migration, invasion, and metastasis of HCC cells via the phosphorylation of focal adhesion kinase (FAK, tyr397) with decreased expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9, because FAK and MMP2/9 are upregulated in liver cancer cells (SMC-7721 and MNCC-97H) and are responsible for malignancy [72]. This evidence concerns the gene MMP2 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
