In our experiments, we were able to detect an early and pronounced increase of IFN-γ levels in the serum of P. yoelii 17XNL single infected and co-infected groups, mainly in the beginning of the infection, as extensively described in literature (Shear et al., 1989; Kobayashi et al., 1996; Shan et al., 2012; Karadjian et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene IFNG and infection.
