The overall results showed that a significantly strong association between NFKB1 -94 ins/del ATTG polymorphism and decreased cancer risk was seen for Asian population in all genetic models (DD+DW vs. WW: OR = 0.77, 95% CI = 0.70–0.86, P < 0.0001; DD vs. DW+WW: OR = 0.77, 95% CI = 0.67–0.90, P = 0.001; DD vs. WW: OR = 0.66, 95% CI = 0.55–0.80, P < 0.0001; DW vs. WW: OR = 0.85, 95% CI = 0.81–0.90, P < 0.0001; D vs. W: OR = 0.82, 95% CI = 0.76–0.90, P < 0.0001) (Fig. 3). The gene discussed is NFKB1; the disease is cancer.
