Without adjustment for other risk factors, age (OR = 1.206; confidence interval = 1.039–1.4), BMI (OR = 1.353; confidence interval = 1.228–1.491), total IgM (OR = 0.619; confidence interval = 0.431–0.888), and P1-IgM (OR = 0.428; confidence interval = 0.282–0.65) were all significant predictors for the presence of NAFLD, and female gender was not (Additional file 4: Table S4). The gene discussed is CD40LG; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
