As for the impact of evaluating expression of 4E‐BP1 on diagnosis, we found cut‐off points that indicated significant differences between groups, with better sensitivity for differentiation between high‐grade and low‐grade astrocytomas (70.5%) than in the diagnosis of GBM (60.3%) and a high positive predictive value (PPV, 94.8%). This evidence concerns the gene EIF4EBP1 and glioblastoma.
