We and others have identified valosin-containing protein (VCP/p97 AAA-ATPase) as a promising therapeutic target for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and several other types of cancers [1, 2, 4, 10], as it regulates critical protein-homeostasis mechanisms to control levels of multiple cellular pathways such as proliferation, migration, inflammation and apoptosis etc [1–7, 21]. Here, VCP is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
