Ghrelin is known to have multiple concurrent actions, including the anti-inflammatory effects [1, 12], release of growth hormone [2, 13, 14], fat accumulation, increased food intake, and stimulation of hypothalamic appetite centers [4, 9, 10, 13, 14]; thus it may help to regain appetite and struggle with malnutrition [1, 2, 4]. Here, GHRL is linked to nutritional deficiency disease.
