EGFR and prostate carcinoma: This mutant EGFR gene was discovered by Shibuya et al. in 1988 [10, 13] and named ⊿EGFR, de2-7 EGFR, or more commonly, EGFRvIII. The EGFRvIII gene has been found in glioblastoma, lung, breast, ovarian, colorectal, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), and prostate cancer.
