There is currently no extensive data on luminal breast carcinomas; however, immunohistochemistry-based platforms analyzing the expression of transcription factors, SLUG and SOX9, which are involved both in embryonic development, across 617 breast carcinomas by tissue microarray, showed the general loss of SOX9 expression in what was classified as luminal A and B, and moderate loss among those classed as triple negative [10]. This evidence concerns the gene SOX9 and breast carcinoma.
