HIF1A and neoplasm: Furthermore, since Stat3 is a well-known transcription factor that directly regulates a subset of tumor-promoting genes including oncogenic transcription factors, cancer immune-surveillance, angiogenesis, apoptosis, and cell cycle factors [27], we then sought to investigate whether GA regulates Stat3-target genes involving HIF1α, cMyc, COX2, iNOS, IL6, VEGFΑ, and cyclin D. Indeed, GA modestly suppressed the expression of Stat3 target genes, especially in TKIR cells (Figure 2C).
