In separate publications, Dispenzieri et al.53 demonstrated that baseline NT-proBNP levels predicted survival in 242 patients with newly diagnosed amyloidosis and in 98 patients before they underwent autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT).51 Kristen et al.50 demonstrated that baseline NT-proBNP level was an independent predictor of survival in 163 patients with AL amyloidosis.
