Overhydration and other factors including, amongst others, poor nutritional status [9], hypoalbuminemia [10], cardiac biomarkers such as N-terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide (NTproBNP) [11] and cardiac troponin (cTNT) [12,13], and elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) have been shown to correlate with mortality in both hemodialysis (HD) and PD patients [2,14,15].
