EGFR and neoplasm: Bevacizumab (Bev) is a humanized monoclonal antibody that inhibits the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), a key mediator in tumor angiogenesis.[4] Several meta-analyses have concluded that the use of Bev in first-line therapy for mCRC shows a benefit in overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), and response rates.[5–8] Cetuximab (Cetux) is a chimeric monoclonal antibody that directly inhibited the downstream signaling pathways of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR).
