An increased expression of CTGF was detected in multiple human cancers, e.g., in gliomas, papillary thyroid carcinomas, precursor B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemias, hepatocellular carcinoma and malignant melanoma, and was associated with the development of those diseases (Braig et al. 2011; Edwards et al. 2011; Urtasun et al. 2011; Welch et al. 2013; Wang et al. 2013; Finger et al. 2014).
