Lysosomal-associated protein transmembrane-4 beta (LAPTM4B) is an oncogene that is upregulated in various solid cancers [5, 6] and associated with poor prognosis, such as gastric cancer [7–9], hepatocellular cancer [10], lung cancer [11, 12] and [13] and etc. LAPTM4B exists as two allelic genes, which have the same sequence except for one 19 bp segment for LAPTM4B *1 and two tight tandem segments for LAPTM4B *2 in the 5’ untranslated region of exon 1 [14]. The gene discussed is LAPTM4B; the disease is lung cancer.
