As C3H/HeJ and C3H/HeN inbred strains are kept separately since 1974 when C3H/HeN came to Europe we certainly cannot exclude that other genetic differences apart from Tlr4 may contribute to our results but taken together, our study supports the hypothesis that TLR4 plays an important role in both hepatic fibrosis and DEN-induced liver injury. This evidence concerns the gene TLR4 and Hepatic fibrosis.
