Only two of them (namely, AKR1B10 present in the “HCV-HCC specific” signature; IGF2BP3 common to both “HBV- and HCV-HCC-specific” signatures) showed a strictly HCC-specific protein expression pattern with no expression in 18/20 normal tissues (Fig. 6). This evidence concerns the gene AKR1B10 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
