Statistically significant reduction of bacterial burden was observed in both lungs (Fig. 5a) and spleens (Fig. 5b) from TSC1f/f LysM-Cre+ mice 3 weeks post-infection compared to WT mice, suggesting that greater autophagy induction in TSC1 deficient macrophages may cause killing of infecting bacilli. Here, TSC1 is linked to infection.
