TF and leptospirosis: Leptospirosis-infected hamsters had significantly higher serum ferritin (p < 0.01), serum iron (p < 0.01), and hepcidin (p < 0.01) concentrations and significantly lower serum transferrin (p < 0.05), erythrocyte (p < 0.05), hemoglobin (p < 0.05), and hematocrit (p < 0.05) concentrations compared to uninfected control hamsters.
